About
I'm Dan, an artist, illustrator, and designer based
in the Thames Valley.
Most of my working life has been spent in creative direction, leading studio teams across healthcare, consumer, and B2B work. It's a practice built on solving problems for other people, and I find real satisfaction in that. But alongside it, running parallel for as long as I can remember, there's the other work — the painting, the drawing, the printmaking.
The things made without a brief.
The personal work keeps coming back to people. Figures, faces, and emotional states that are hard to name directly. I work in oils mostly, and in print, and I'm drawn to the places where an image holds something unresolved — where you feel something before you understand it.
The design and illustration I take on tends to span editorial and publishing, branding, and identity
work — book covers, logos, visual systems for
people who care how things look. There's usually
a thread back to the same instincts: something considered, something with a bit of edge to it.
