Exhibition space

Institution of Engineering and Technology

How do you turn a meeting room into an engaging, thought-provoking exhibition space, and back again?

The IET’s London home at Savoy Place needed a permanent exhibition celebrating Women in Engineering, but the spaces had to function as meeting rooms too. I led the team working to solve this from the ground up, designing a bespoke retractable system that lets the space flex between uses without compromising either.

With the practical problem solved, the content could take centre stage, a series of compelling stories and showcases of women in engineering, and the first major exhibition launched at the venue. The spaces now deliver a fully functional meeting environment and an immersive exhibition experience within the same four walls.
