Institute of Engineering and Technology

Owned and run by the IET, Austin Court is a unique conference and events venue situated in the heart of Birmingham. I was tasked with conceptualising ideas to ‘inject engineering’ into this historic building, reflecting its heritage and status as a key IET venue.

In the main entrance hall, visitors are met with a large ‘WELCOME’ display comprising lots of individual items and parts obtained from, or linked to, major engineering inventions from the West Midlands area. The glass Atrium has been embellished with striking contra-vision graphics, showcasing some of the incredible engineering innovations ‘born in Birmingham’.
